Bears drove market activity in the day as reflected by the indices’ performance. The NASI, NSE 10, NSE 20, and NSE 25 closed in the red shedding 1.1%, 0.8%, 0.1%, and 0.5% respectively.
Market activity rose by 48.2% to USD 1.8m on the back of increased trading on the banking stocks.

HF Group was a surprise top mover. It traded 6.5m shares in the day at a volume-weighted price of KES 4.51, closing the day on a 0.7% price erosion on local trading.
Jubilee was the best-performing top mover, leaping 7.3% to KES 188.50 on increased foreign trading. KCB, Safaricom, and Absa investors had a rough day as the counters retreated 1.5% to KES 23.10, 2.5% to KES 15.35, and 0.8% to KES 11.75 respectively.

Serena was the leading gainer of the day, surging 9.8% to an eight-week high of KES 13.40 while Sameer was the leading laggard, slumping 7.3% to KES 2.40, both on thin volumes.
Foreign investors remained net sellers for the second consecutive session, recording net outflows of USD 0.3m. Safaricom led the selling charge for the second consecutive session while Jubilee led the buying charge.
