Equities Turnover Soared 13 Times To Hit Ksh 729.2Mn

Equities turnover soared by 13x to KES 729.2Mn up from KES 54.1Mn the previous trading day. Foreign investors were the dominant players on the day. They accounted for c. 94% of the total market turnover.

Foreign investors remained bullish on key blue chips to print net inflows of KES 3.96Mn in the day.

Safaricom Group was the most traded counter on the day – accounting for 92.6% of the total market activity. The stock’s turnover came in at KES 675.3Mn – with net outflows amounting to KES 8.9Mn.

Fixed Income Turnover declined by 89.8% to KES 240Mn down from KES 2.34Bn the previous trading day.

IFB1/2023/007 was the single most traded paper of the day.
