KCSE Practicals Ongoing, Rehearsal For KCPE Candidates Set For Friday

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations, KCSE,  practical began yesterday on 23rd October as 903,260 candidates are registered for the examinations according to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

The rehearsals were held last week on Thursday, October 19, 2023. The practical exams include orals for French, German, Arabic, Kenya Sign Language and music.

On Wednesday, October 25, candidates will sit for Home Science (food and nutrition) practicals which will run until Tuesday, November 31, 2023.

Candidates will be allocated 15 to 45 minutes for the Home Science practicals. Written exams for common subjects will begin with Chemistry on November 6 and will run till November 23 when Agriculture will be the last written paper

However, Physics practical will be the last examinable subject before curtains come down on the 2023 KCSE on November 24.

On Friday, 27th October, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination will start their rehearsals that will be the end of the 8-4-4 system in primary school after nearly four decades. KCPE and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment will be done in the same period.

Both exams begin on Monday, October 30, and end on Wednesday, November 1, according to Knec.

According to the Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, the importance of professionalism among the monitoring officers overseeing the examinations.

“We play a bigger role than just delivering the examinations; we must also motivate the candidates that this is a process that we all went through and they can also do it successfully.” He said.
