Equities Turnover Ups 6% To Land At Ksh 213.3 Million

Turnover increased by 6% to KES 213.3Mn up from KES 201.3Mn the previous trading day. Foreign investors were the dominant players on the day. They accounted for 71.1% of the total market turnover.

Foreign investors were bearish on key blue chips to print net outflows of KES 34.24Mn in the day. Safaricom was the most traded counter on the day – accounting for 71.4% of the total market activity.

The stock’s turnover came in at KES 152.3Mn – with net outflows amounting to KES 22.3Mn.

Fixed Income Turnover increased by 635.7% to KES 5.11 Bn up from KES 0.69 Bn the previous trading day.

The FXD segment was the highest-grossing segment of the day – accounting for 80.8% of trades above KES 50Mn. IFB1/2021/021 was the most frequently traded paper of the day.
