We Should Combat Discrimination Against Differently Abled – NCBA

NCBA Bank has called an end to stereotyping and discriminating against differently-abled persons, and instead encourage them to believe in their abilities and grow to inspire others in society.

Speaking during the PWD Day organized by Ushirika Wema, Nelly Wainaina, the Group Director of Marketing at NCBA Bank, called on stakeholders to come together and support differently-abled persons in a way that will enhance their abilities.

“It’s up to each of us to combat stereotypes, misconceptions, and discrimination against the differently abled. We should value and include them in all aspects of society,” said Nelly. “At NCBA, we work to inspire greatness without discrimination. We have trained our staff to identify and prioritize customers.”

Combatting stereotypes, misconceptions, and discrimination against people living with disabilities is crucial for fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.

Stereotypes often stem from ignorance and a lack of understanding, perpetuating harmful myths that limit the potential of individuals with disabilities.

Challenging and dismantling these stereotypes helps open the door to a broader acceptance of diversity and creates an environment where people with disabilities are recognized for their unique abilities and contributions rather than being defined by preconceived notions.
