Relief As EPRA Reduces Fuel Prices By Up To Ksh 18

The Energy Petroleum and Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reduced the price of fuel by up to 18 shillings, the largest drop in months, signaling a huge relief for Kenyans in the next month. The drop comes after President William Ruto declared a “significant drop”.

Super Petrol has dropped by 5.31 shillings per liter followed by Diesel which has dropped by 10 shillings per liter. Kerosene dropped the most by 18.68 shillings.

“The prices are inclusive of 16 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020,” said EPRA in their latest statement.

Fuel Prices

In Nairobi, super petrol will retail at 193.84 shillings, Diesel at 180.38 shillings, and Kerosene at 170.06 shillings. At the same time, in Mombasa residents will purchase super petrol at 190.66 shillings, Diesel at 177.21 shillings, and Kerosene at 166.99 shillings.

In Nakuru, the price of fuel will retail at 192.90 shillings for super petrol, Diesel at 179.82 shillings, and Kerosene at 169.56 shillings. The new prices will take effect from April 14 midnight to midnight, May 14, 2024.
