BY Soko Directory Team · August 23, 2024 02:08 pm

After blogger Robert Alai posted a post on X claiming that Kenya Airways might have cooked their books during the recently-released financial results that saw them making profits after 11 years, Kenya Airways has come up, guns blazing, calling the statements by Alai lies.

Here is the statement:

This statement is not factual and misrepresents and perpetuates a malicious narrative.

Kenya Airways is run by professionals of high integrity, and our processes are subjected to multiple checks and reviews, including our internal audit, external auditors, and the board through the Audit and Risk Committee. To suggest that the statements are not accurate is simply clout chasing.

For clarity, the financial statements were prepared by the finance department under the leadership of the CFO and were presented to the public by her.

The appointment of our new Chief Strategy Officer is based on merit and is approved by the board.

We consider your statement malicious and intended to damage our reputation and belittle the progress and hard work of our over 4000 employees.

We urge you to retract these falsehoods immediately and refrain from such actions in the future.
