Glovo Drives Retail Media Innovation Across East Africa With Landmark Event In Nairobi
Glovo, a leading multi-category app, has revolutionized the East African retail landscape by hosting the region’s first and largest retail media event in Nairobi. Over 60 industry leaders, top brands, banks, and agencies gathered to explore cutting-edge strategies that are set to transform consumer engagement.
The event provided a platform for sharing insights into order trends across different markets and valuable customer insights from both Kenya and Uganda. These insights will empower brands to tailor their strategies for maximum impact.
Noémie Vallée, Global Brand Ads lead from Glovo, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovative brand advertising. She announced global partnerships with the likes of MARS, and showcased new advertising assets that will be rolled out in December 2024 and Q1 2025. These new assets will offer increased visibility and engagement opportunities for brands.
The event also featured best practices from leading companies like LOREAL EA, providing valuable learnings for all attendees. The day concluded with extensive networking, photo sessions, and positive interactions among industry peers.
In her remarks, Caroline Mutuku, General Manager of Glovo Kenya, emphasized Kenya’s leading role in the region’s retail media landscape: “Kenya is fast becoming the hub for retail media innovation in East Africa, and Glovo is proud to lead this transformation. Glovo’s presence in East Africa is about more than expanding access—it’s about innovation that empowers brands to reach audiences in ways that resonate. I’m excited about the momentum we’ve built today and how this will shape the future of retail across the region.”
