Jambojet Career Fair Delves Into Rapidly Changing Aviation Industry

The aviation industry’s rapidly evolving needs came into sharp focus on Thursday as Jambojet hosted its inaugural Career Fair at Kenya Airways Pride Centre.

The Jambojet Career Fair, themed The Future of Aviation; Innovation, Opportunities and Career Pathways, brought together over 1000 industry leaders, aviation professionals, and aspiring practitioners to explore the evolving landscape of aviation.

Speaking at the event, Jambojet Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Karanja Ndegwa, stated their commitment to nurturing local talent, fostering innovation, and ensuring a sustainable future.

“At Jambojet, we believe in investing in the future of aviation by connecting aspiring professionals with opportunities to grow and succeed in this industry. We are proud to provide a platform that inspires and empowers the next generation to pursue impactful careers and contribute to the region’s promising aviation industry. This will not only benefit Jambojet but the industry as a whole,” said Mr Ndegwa.

He added that this event is in line with the organization’s social goal in its sustainability program, which aims at improving stakeholder wellbeing.

“We have a Magenta Scholars program which supports learners through various learning levels to advance their education. Further, we provide internships and extended on-the-job training to the Scholars in Engineering, allowing them to gain the much-needed training, ready for the job market.”

Dr. Sarah Waitiki, the Director of EASA (East Africa School of Aviation) said that EASA’s mission is aligned with producing graduates who are well-versed with current aviation trends and can adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of the modern era.

“Aviation is a very dynamic industry. What we try to do at EASA is to ensure that our curriculum remains aligned with the emerging technologies and needs of the industry. We work very closely with regulators, airlines, aircraft maintenance organizations, and all other stakeholders to ensure that we offer curricula that are relevant for the industry and ensure that students do not go and find issues and technology that they are not familiar with,” said Dr. Waitiki.

The Career Fair comes as Jambojet was recently awarded Leading Low-Cost Airline in Africa, for the third year in a row, just a few months after commencing their Mombasa-Zanzibar route.
