Glovo Showcases Its Largest Real-Time Operations Hub

Glovo hosted Abubakar Hassan, the Principal Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Trade & Investment, State Department Investment Promotion, at its Real-Time Operations (RTO) Centre in Nairobi.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including members of KNCCI, Glovo’s General Manager and Director for Kenya, Caroline Mutuku, and Glovo’s Regional Head of Government and Public Relations for Sub-Saharan Africa, Chidera Akwuba. Glovo used the platform to showcase its pivotal role in driving innovation, supporting SMEs, and contributing to Kenya’s socioeconomic growth.
The Nairobi RTO Centre, Glovo’s largest hub globally, has seen remarkable growth, expanding its team from just 9 to 160 agents, with plans to scale to over 300 in the next two years. This hub manages real-time operations across all the 23 countries where Glovo operates, supported by a dedicated team of over 160 agents working around the clock. Its key functions include:
- Centre of Excellence Team: Driving operational efficiency and delivering exceptional service experiences.
- Global Acquisition Verification Team: Ensuring compliance and seamless onboarding for riders across multiple regions.
- Country-Level Operations Desk: Offering localized language support in Arabic, French, and other languages for key markets, including Kenya, Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, and Tunisia.
During the tour, PS Abubakar Hassan acknowledged Glovo’s remarkable growth and its impact on Kenya’s e-commerce sector, highlighting the RTO Centre as a model of innovation driving digital and economic transformation.
With 70% of the businesses on its platform comprising SMEs, Glovo remains committed to empowering local enterprises to scale their operations, access broader markets, and thrive in the digital economy.
Caroline Mutuku, General Manager for Glovo Kenya, expressed her gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of creating employment opportunities for the youth.
