SGA Helps Out Vulnerable Mothers From Pumwani Maternity

SGA Security visited the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi, where they donated essential maternity items such as newborn care packs.

The maternity newborn care pack items donated included diapers and toiletries to support both the mothers and the newborns. This donation is also in line with the company’s commitment to serving the community.

Speaking during the celebrations, SGA Kenya Head of Sales and Marketing Irene Opondo reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to being a part of the global change in ensuring that the rights of women and girls are upheld.

“At SGA, we recognize that many mothers, especially from the areas around Pumwani, are vulnerable, and as a company, we value security at all levels, not just physically, but emotionally as well. Coming here today is a testament to our values to impact the society around us. As we mark International Women’s week, we join organizations worldwide in accelerating for change that will ensure our girls and women prosper,” said Ms. Opondo.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Pumwani Maternity Hospital, Pascaline Kimongu, the head of social services, appreciated SGA for remembering the vulnerable in the hospital.

“This hospital serves very many mothers, especially those vulnerable in the community. Your donation will go a long way in ensuring that these mothers have essential care packs as they get discharged to go home and take care of their newborns. It will also help those admitted for one reason or the other, and who cannot afford essential items such as diapers,” said Ms Kimongu.

Pumwani Maternity Hospital is the largest maternity hospital in Kenya, playing a vital role in maternal and child healthcare in Nairobi. It serves women from the area, especially vulnerable mothers seeking quality healthcare.

International Women’s Day is celebrated to address pertinent issues that affect women, such as gender equality, reproductive rights, violence and abuse against women, and discrimination based on sex.
