Death Has Become So Random That You Can’t Stay Mad At Your Partner Forever

Death

In two weeks, I have lost three closest friends. My soul has been crushed, and I am short of words. But perhaps what has shaken me the most is fear. I am terrified at the rate in which death is plugging people randomly, the way someone cuts down trees in a forest.

Death has become so random that you cannot stay mad at your partner forever. What if that quarrel becomes the last one you hear? What if that insult becomes the last one you hear out of their mouth? What if that smile is the last one? Just what if?

Before I received the news that Kevin was dead, he had called me. He was travelling to the village and did not have enough money. He needed some 500 shillings. I sent it to him. Two hours later, I see, “Rest in peace” on Facebook.” He was dead. Road crash.

Do you see the way you see a cockroach moving across your room and you step on it or hit it hard using your slippers? Then it dies instantly? That is how life has become. Unpredictable and every minute you are breathing is a blessing.

They say do not worry about tomorrow but I say, pray every minute that you see the next minute. Nowadays, you do not need to be sick to die. Sounds scary but that does not mean that we should stop living. It also does not mean that we should stop trying.

What should we do? Live every minute like it is the last one. The purpose is to live an impact every minute you are breathing. Do not be angry for long. You can be angry now, next minute, you are no more. Smile a lot and relax. Let your purpose be living through the next minute.

Otherwise, Khabusie.
