Weekly Market Wrap-Up: Equity Turnover Down 22%,

Weekly equity turnover decreased by 22.9% w-o-w to close at USD 12.45 MN (KES 1.62 BN).

NSE 20 and NASI declined by 2.6% and 3.6% w-o-w to close at 2,166.25 and 126.78, respectively.

Foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 27.5% of total market purchases and 58.3% of total market sales.

Fixed Income

Weekly bond turnover went up by 80.1% w-o-w to close at USD 500.32 MN (KES 64.90 BN).

91-day,182-day, and 364-day T-bill rates shed 12.9 bps, 14.1 bps, and 15.5 bps to close at 8.5006%, 8.8941%, and 10.2319%, respectively.

USD|KES: KES weakened by 0.36% w-o-w to close at 129.71 (-0.32% year-to-date).

FX Reserve: Import cover dropped by 13.7% w-o-w to close at 4.40 months (-6.38% year-to-date).
