Sophos Empowers Partners With MDR Focus At Kenya Roadshow

More than 60 cybersecurity professionals gathered last Friday in Mombasa at the Sophos Experience Partner Roadshow 2025, a key annual event for Sophos channel partners in Kenya. The full-day engagement provided a platform for dialogue, strategy sharing, and technical enablement, with a clear emphasis on the vital role channel partners play in delivering effective cybersecurity outcomes.
As cyber threats grow increasingly sophisticated, particularly ransomware, which affected 70% of small businesses and over 90% of mid-sized organizations in 2024 according to the latest Sophos Threat Report the event focused on how partners can better protect their clients through managed detection and response (MDR) solutions.
At the core of the discussions was Sophos Central, the company’s unified, AI-enhanced platform that enables partners to secure endpoints, networks, cloud workloads, and email through a single pane of glass. Sophos MDR, which combines expert threat hunting with 24/7 response, emerged as a key solution helping partners safeguard clients’ evolving digital environments.
“Partner enablement is at the heart of our strategy,” said Prish Thaakar, Director of Sales – Africa, Sophos. “We’re not just sharing technology, we’re equipping partners with the training, tools, and support to build scalable, profitable security services. The enthusiasm and participation at this year’s event reflect how critical MDR and unified security solutions have become for organizations of all sizes.”
The agenda featured tailored breakout sessions for sales, technical, marketing, and MSP profiles. Attendees explored new product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and actionable insights on delivering value through collaboration.
Sophos also shared updates on two major partner support initiatives:
- Sophos Partner Care: A 24/7 expert support desk to assist with licensing, deal registrations, and operational efficiency.
- Sophos Customer Success: A dedicated team that ensures ongoing customer engagement and growth beyond initial onboarding.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing exceptional partner contributions across the region:
- Partner of the Year: Computer Center (Tz) Ltd
- MDR Partner of the Year: Revolusys Software Limited
- Distributor of the Year: Mart Networks Kenya Ltd
- Campaign of the Year: XC360
- Outstanding Contributor of the Year: Safaricom
- Outstanding Customer Success: Symphony Rwanda Ltd
“These awards represent more than performance metrics. They are a testament to the strength, resilience, and shared vision of our channel ecosystem,” Thaakar added. “We’re proud to walk this journey with our partners as they lead the charge in building cyber-resilient businesses across the continent.”
The roadshow also came at a pivotal time for Sophos, aligning with the recent appointment of Chris Bell as Senior Vice President of Global Channel, Alliances and Corporate Development, and the launch of MSP Elevate, a global initiative supporting managed service providers already securing over 250,000 businesses worldwide through Sophos technologies.
