Kenya Railways has announced a range of new job opportunities as the country continues to invest in and expand its railway transport system. This move comes shortly after progress in the Standard Gauge Railway extension, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving transport services and strengthening operations across the network.

The corporation is seeking qualified and experienced Kenyans to fill several managerial roles in different departments. These positions are aimed at improving efficiency, safety, and service delivery within the railway system. The available roles cover key areas such as rail safety, passenger services, sales and marketing, quality management, and risk coordination. Additional openings are in technical fields, including signalling, electrical and communication systems, as well as train operations and internal auditing. There are also opportunities in logistics and finance, particularly in store management and accounting.

Applicants interested in these roles are required to submit a complete application online. This includes a signed application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, and copies of academic and professional certificates, along with a valid identification document. Candidates must also provide details about their work experience, referees, and expected salary.

Those who are successful in the selection process will be expected to present clearance documents from several government agencies. These include the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Higher Education Loans Board, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a recognise credit reference bureau. These requirements are meant to ensure transparency and integrity in the recruitment process.

The corporation has also emphasized its commitment to equal opportunity employment. It is encouraging applications from women, persons with disabilities, and individuals from marginalized communities, reflecting a broader goal of inclusivity in public service.

All applications must be submitted through the official online platform provided on the corporation’s website, as physical submissions will not be accepted. Candidates are advised to apply early and carefully follow the instructions, including clearly indicating the position and reference number. The deadline for submission has been set for April 28, 2026, in the evening.

This recruitment drive signals continued growth in Kenya’s railway sector, which plays an important role in improving transport, supporting trade, and connecting different regions of the country.
