Carrefour’s KES 20 Million Anniversary Campaign Comes to a Close

Carrefour Kenya, for which Majid Al Futtaim owns the exclusive rights to operate in Kenya, has concluded its 10 Years, 10 Million Stories customer appreciation campaign with the official handover of awards to winning shoppers at Two Rivers Mall.

The campaign, which marked Carrefour’s 10th anniversary in Kenya, rewarded customers across its stores and the Carrefour App with prizes including brand-new vehicles, school fee vouchers, home appliances and fully paid holiday trips. The awards handover took place at Carrefour Two Rivers, bringing to life the retailer’s anniversary message of celebrating the customers who have shaped its journey over the past decade.

Among the winners were Cynthia Nyamasyo, Sharyl Patel, Josephine Mwenje and Deep Mota, who received cars and school fee vouchers as part of the campaign’s grand prize awards. Their wins formed part of a wider customer rewards programme valued at over KES 20 million, which ran from 22 May to 11 June across all Carrefour stores and the Carrefour App.

The anniversary campaign was designed to reward shoppers for their loyalty while marking Carrefour’s decade-long journey in Kenya. Since entering the market in 2016, Carrefour has grown to 34 stores nationwide, served more than 119 million customers, including 24 million in 2025, invested close to KES 15 billion in Kenya, and spent more than KES 239 billion with local suppliers.

Beyond the prizes, the campaign highlighted the everyday relationship Carrefour has built with Kenyan shoppers over the years. From school shopping and family groceries to household essentials, fresh produce, local products and convenient online shopping, the campaign celebrated the many ways customers have made Carrefour part of their daily lives.

Carrefour currently works with over 690 Kenyan suppliers, including farmers, manufacturers and SMEs, and sources 99 per cent of its products locally. The retailer has also created more than 3,000 direct jobs and invested in workforce development through its Retail Business School, which delivered more than 44,700 hours of training and issued 546 internal training certifications in 2025.

As the 10 Years, 10 Million Stories campaign comes to a close, Carrefour says the milestone is both a celebration of its growth and a tribute to the shoppers, suppliers, employees and communities that have contributed to its story in Kenya.

The award handover marked the final chapter of the anniversary campaign, reinforcing Carrefour’s continued focus on offering value, convenience, quality and rewarding shopping experiences to customers across the country.
