Bamburi Cement and KPLC Strengthen Partnership to Support Reliable Power and Industrial Growth at the Coast

Bamburi Cement has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) to enhance power reliability and support sustainable industrial growth in the Coast region.

The commitment was highlighted during a high-level engagement between the leadership teams of Bamburi Cement led by the CEO, Mr Geoffrey Ndugwa and the leadership teams of KPLC led by the MD & CEO, Dr. Eng. Joseph Siror, at Bamburi Cement’s Mombasa Plant, where the two organisations explored opportunities to strengthen power stability, operational resilience and collaboration in support of Kenya’s manufacturing sector.

As one of Kenya’s significant industrial power consumers, Bamburi Cement relies on a stable and reliable electricity supply to maintain efficient operations and support the continuity of its manufacturing activities. The engagement provided an opportunity for both organisations to discuss practical measures and identify areas where closer collaboration can contribute to improved power reliability and operational efficiency.

Speaking during the engagement, Bamburi Cement CEO Mr. Geoffrey Ndugwa said reliable energy infrastructure is critical to the competitiveness and sustainability of Kenya’s manufacturing sector.

Our engagement with KPLC provides an important platform to explore practical solutions that can strengthen power reliability, improve operational resilience and support sustainable industrial growth, particularly in the Coast region. Bamburi Cement and KPLC agreed on the importance of continued engagement and collaboration to identify opportunities that can contribute to a more reliable power supply while supporting the growth of manufacturing and other industries across the Coast region.
