NCBA Takes Ksh 4.6 Billion To Western Kenya In Asset Finance

NCBA has disbursed KES 4.6 billion in asset finance in the Western region in 2026 alone, supporting businesses and individuals across Nyanza and Western Kenya to acquire vehicles, machinery, equipment and technology to expand their operations and improve productivity.
The financing reflects growing demand for assets that support business expansion across key sectors of the regional economy, including agriculture and agribusiness, trade, transport and logistics, manufacturing, education, healthcare and construction.
The announcement was made in Kisumu during the launch of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS 20th Edition, which marks two decades of recognising the dealers, insurance partners and other industry stakeholders who have helped customers access assets for business growth.
Speaking during the launch, Lennox Mugambi, Group Director, Asset Finance and Business Solutions, NCBA, said the level of financing demonstrates the importance of access to productive assets in supporting businesses and economic activity in the region.
“Asset financing enables businesses to acquire critical equipment while preserving working capital for day-to-day operations and other areas of growth. As we mark 20 years of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS, we are celebrating more than business performance. We are celebrating the partnerships that have enabled entrepreneurs, transporters, farmers, contractors, schools, hospitals, manufacturers and countless businesses across Kenya to acquire the assets they need to grow,” said Mugambi.
In H1 2026, NCBA maintained a 30 per cent share of Kenya’s asset finance market, while continuing to expand financing solutions across emerging asset categories. These include electric vehicles and solar equipment, as businesses and individuals increasingly explore technologies that can improve efficiency and manage operating costs.
“The awards is ultimately about recognising the people behind Kenya’s growth story. Our partners are often the first to understand a customer’s needs and connect them to the right solution. Together, we are helping businesses expand, supporting livelihoods and enabling greater productivity. Our continued position as the Home of Asset Finance is built on these enduring partnerships,” said Mugambi.
The NCBA JOHARI AWARDS 20th Anniversary regional circuit will cover four regions – Coast, Western, Mt. Kenya and Nairobi – recognising dealers, distributors, insurance brokers, agents and other industry partners whose collaboration has helped customers acquire the assets they need to grow their businesses, expand operations and contribute to Kenya’s economic development.
