In 1984, a group of experienced professional Bankers, Industrialist, and prominent Advocates committed to start a Financial Institution in the name of Consolidated Finance Company, which was established on 13 th November, 1984 with its registered office in Nairobi, Kenya. The growth of Consolidated Finance Company was modest but progressive over the first nine years. In 1994, the results were so impressive that Consolidated Finance Company became one of the leading Financial Institutions in the country. In the same year when Central Bank of Kenya allowed Financial Institutions to convert into fully fledged Commercial Banks, Consolidated Finance Company became the first Financial Institution to become a commercial bank ‘ the African Banking Corporation Limited (ABC Bank), officially opening its doors in January 1995.
ABC Bank today has a wide network of seven Branches; 3 in Nairobi , and one branch each in Mombasa , Kisumu, Eldoret and Meru, and team of over 120 qualified and professional bankers. The bank is fully geared to meet changing financial needs of both local and international markets.
