Flame Tree stock declines to emerge top loser of the day.

The NSE 20 and NASI index declined by 17.69 points and 1.49 points respectively to close at 4,835.75 and 161.31. Liberty Holdings rose by 3.13 percent to close at KES 24.75 to become today’s top gainers. Flame Tree stock emerged the top loser, declining by 4.71 percent to close the day at KES 8.10.

The volume of shares traded jumped by 201.72 percent to close at 76.03mn.Total turnover soared by 58.54 percent to close at KES 1,547.90mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 980.51mn representing 63.34 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 82.46 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 93.21 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI rose by 0.12 percent to close at 1,892.98 while USE LSI declined by 0.01 percent to close at 324.33. A total of 3.46mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 1.61bn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI remained constant to close at 224.02 and 136.08 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 648,700 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF188.14mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI dropped by 0.52 percent to close at 2,698.07 while the DSE TSI gained 0.19 percent to close at 4,684.93. CRDB Bank was the top gainer of the day, gaining 1.19 percent to close at TZS425.00 .African Barrick Gold was the top loser, declining by 2.09 percent to close at TZS 8,890.00. Total volumes were recorded at 1.19mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 6.00bn.
