East African Breweries Posts HY KSh 4.95 Billion in Profit-after-tax EABL

The NSE 20 and NASI index rose 27.22 points and 0.57 points respectively to settle at 4,837.58 and 162.08. Eaagads gained the most in the market edging up by 10.00 percent to close the day at KES 38.50. Crown Berger emerged the top loser, declining by 9.09 percent to close the day at KES 90.00.

The volume of shares traded rose by 3.83 percent to close at 18.82mn.Total turnover soared 53.65 percent to close at KES 725.86mn. East African Breweries was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 256.93mn representing 35.40 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 69.45 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 81.39 percent of total turnover

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined 0.79 percent to close at 1,968.35 while USE LSI remained constant 327.89. A total of 33,646 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 10.47mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSI declined by 0.12 percent and 0.02 percent to close at 220.07 and 135.62 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 12,200 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 3.96mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and TSI dropped 0.20 percent and 0.26 percent respectively to close at 2,799.59 and 4,696.63. Tanzania Portland Cement Company was the top gainer of the day, rising by 0.29
percent to close TZS 3,500.00. CRDB Bank was the top loser of the day declining by 0.52 percent to close at TZS 3,810.00. Total volumes were recorded at 43,988 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 136.73mn.
