The NSE 20 and NASI index soared 68.49 points and 1.33 points respectively to settle at 4,906.07 and 164.41. CFC Stanbic gained the most in the market edging up by 6.54 percent to close the day at KES 114.00. Crown Berger emerged the top loser, declining by 10.00 percent to close the day at KES 81.00.

The volume of shares traded rose by 860.58 percent to close at 180.76mn.Total turnover went up by 1,130.02 percent to close at KES 8,928.26mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 7,443.86mn representing 83.37 percent of total market turnover due to a substantial sale of shares by Helios to NSSF Uganda.

Foreign buys stood at 85.91 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 93.03 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI rose by 1.39 percent to close at 1,995.63 while USE LSI declined 1.10 percent to at 324.28. A total of 168,550 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 8.16mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSI remained constant to close at 220.07 and 135.62 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 16,800 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 5.29mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and TSI declined 2.60 percent and 0.27 percent respectively to close at 2,726.77 and 4,684.09.Africa Barrick Gold was the top loser of the day declining by 5.23 percent to close at TZS 9,600.00. Total volumes were recorded at 667,975 shares.

Total turnover closed at TZS 372.92mn.
