Mumias edges up 5.41 percent to emerge highest gainer

The NSE 20 and NASI index edged up 1.86 points and 0.52 to settle at 4,780.48 and 163.34. Mumias gained the most in the market edging up by 5.41 percent to close the day at KES 1.95. Kenya

Airways emerged the top loser, declining by 5.04 percent to close the day at KES 6.60.

The volume of shares traded dropped 21.70 percent to close at 18.62mn.Total turnover lost 23.84 percent to close at KES 459.69mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 178.53mn representing 39.87 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 33.44 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 27.18 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and LSI declined 0.71 percent and 0.17 percent respectively to close at 2,015.15 and 324.36. A total of 437,544 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 44.61mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSI remained constant to close at 221.68 and 135.81 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 5.50mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 1.62bn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and TSI shaved 0.11 percent and 0.32 percent respectively to close at 2,847.08 and 4,793.41. TOL Gasses was the top gainer of the day, gaining 1.61 percent to close at TZS 630.00.
CRDB Bank was the top loser of the day declining by 3.30 percent to close at TZS 440.00. Total volumes were recorded at 592,913 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 8.38bn.
