 Home Afrika Emerges Top Loser

The NSE 20 and NASI index dropped 90.52 points and 1.92 points respectively to close at 4,080.83 and 137.51. Sameer Kenya gained 8.64 percent to KES 4.40 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Home Afrika emerged the top loser, declining by 6.98 percent to close the day at KES 2.00. The volume of shares traded rose 66.56 percent to close at 29.88mn. Total turnover also shoved up 12.91 percent to close at KES 722.36mn. KCB Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 324.90mn representing 44.98 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 60.22 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 86.50 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI shed off 1.31 percent and 0.56 percent respectively to close at 1,787.91 and 352.83. A total of 38.49mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close
of UGX 294.04mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI dropped 0.05 percent and 0.01 percent respectively to close at 193.02 and 141.68. Total number of shares traded today was 1.05mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 294.04.

Tanzania: The DSEI declined 1.45 percent to close at 2,463.94 DSE TSI rose 0.32 percent to close at 4,603.09. National Microfinance Bank rose 1.85 percent to close at TZS 2,750.00 to become top gainer. Africa Barrick Gold shed off 4.09 percent to close at TZS 7,850.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 49,377mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 228.39mn.
