Equity Group Holdings, Largest Mover of the Day

The NSE All share index rose 0.32 points to close today’s trading session at 143.12 points. However the NSE 20 share index dipped by 23.32 points to close at 4,153.21. E.A. Portland gained 8.00 percent to KES 54.00 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Kapchorua emerged the top loser, declining by 9.81 percent to close the day at KES193.00.

The volume of shares traded shed off 21.41 percent to close at 10.14mn. Total turnover also fell by 28.51 percent to close at KES 365.90mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 89.00mn representing 24.32 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 68.39 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 55.33 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI gained 1.75 percent and 0.09 percent respectively to close at 1,855.63 and 350.40. A total of 1.73mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 1.00bn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI dropped 0.90 percent and 0.21 percent respectively to close at 193.77 and 141.69. Total number of shares traded today was 22,100 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 6.31.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 0.06 percent and 0.13 percent respectively to close at 2,469.04 and 4,623.97. CRDB Bank declined 1.25 percent to close at 395.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 3.43mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.43bn.
