Nation Media Group Emerges Top Loser of the Day

NSE 20 declined 30.14 to close at 4,212.11 while NASI index went up 0.02 points to close at 147.29. Crown Berger gained 5.22 percent closing today’s session at KES 60.50 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Nation Media Group emerged the top loser, declining by 5.84 percent to close the day at KES 145.00.

The volume of shares traded jumped up 71.93 percent to close at 16.13mn. Total turnover also rose by 128.25 percent to close at KES 500.91mn. Bamburi was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 252.96mn representing 50.50 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 85.96 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 74.55 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI declined 1.40 percent and 0.48 percent respectively to close at 1,915.77 and 355.40. A total of 198,100 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close
of UGX 4.61mn, an increase from the previous turnover.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI lost 0.08 percent and 0.10 percent respectively to close at 189.79 and 141.16.Total turnover came in at RWF 1.37 with 4,900 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI lost 0.59 percent and 0.27 percent respectively to close at 2,529.00 and 4,587.43.Tanzania Breweries gained 0.13 percent to close at 15,200 becoming today’s top gainer. Africa Barrick Gold declined 4.34 percent to close at 8,160.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 1.09mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.05bn.
