NSE 20 dropped 21.04 points to close at 3,909.27 while NASI index went up 0.95 points to close at 138.96. Umeme rose 6.25 percent to at KES 17.00. Home Afrika declined 6.25 percent to close the day at KES 1.50 becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded jumped 101.63 percent to close at 36.75mn. Total turnover also ended KES 503.93mn up 58.80 percent. KCB Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 209.73mn representing 26.21 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 90.78 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 91.88 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI lost 0.65 percent to close at 1,778.99 while USE LSI edged up 1.39 percent to close at 366.09. A total of 370,450 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 98.04mn, an increase from the previous turnover.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 174.64 and 134.06. Total turnover came in at RWF 488,000.00mn with 2,000 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 0.11 percent and 0.24 percent respectively to close at 2,400.71 and 4,572.90. Tanzania Portland Cement went up 1.59 percent to close at TZS 3,100.00 becoming today’s top gainer. Dar es Salaam Community Bank declined 1.72 percent to close at TZS 570.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 134,807 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 952.-2mn.
