Kenya’s top Micro and Small Medium Enterprises will be awarded on the evening of Thursday, October 29. The inaugural Small Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards 2015 (SBIEA 2015) will be held at Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
Dr. Manu Chandaria, Chairman, Comcraft Group will be the chief guest. The awards will mark the official conclusion of the 2nd annual International Conference on Advancement of Business Management Practices in Africa (ICABUMPA) and the Intelligence for innovation (iN4iN) Conference 2015. It was hosted by Mount Kenya University School of Business and Economics (MKU SOBE) in partnership with iN4iN Africa and Equip Africa Institute.
The SBIEA 2015 aim to identify and appreciate individuals and businesses who apply innovations either incremental, breakthrough or transformational as a differentiating factor in starting or operating their business.
“The main objective of the innovation awards is to promote efforts to improve current solutions and to come up with new or improved answers at all stages of the value chain within their industries,” says Dr. Vincent Gaitho, Chairman of the Conference organizing Committee.
The two categories of the award shall be as follows;
This award is targeted at existing enterprises (at least 3 years) from any sector with outstanding creativity and business models that apply knowledge and innovation to achieve success and that are worthy of serving as role models for new business. The innovation areas can be Product, Process or Organizational.
This award will recognize a business from any industry which is making an impact on their community by applying Transformative levels of innovation. The business innovation will be selected from business entries in category II and with positive developmental impact to the hosting community
