Passion Fruits Retailing Highest in Mombasa

Tomato prices in Eldoret are still very high for a 64kg bag as it currently retails at Sh.7,600 as compared to Nakuru where the same quantity retails at Sh.3,000 thus marking difference of Sh.4,600. Cabbages on the other hand retailed highest in Mombasa as a 126kg bag goes went for Sh.3,900 while the same goes for Sh.1,200 in Nakuru.

Accordin to the market survey of commodities in various town across the country, Nakuru happens to be the town with the lowest market prices of goods as compared to other towns. Capsicums retails highest in Kitale where a 50kg bag goes for Sh.7,500 while the same is being sold at Sh.2,000 in Mombasa and Eldoret respectively.

In the fruits sector, there are plenty of fruits in the market but each type has got different market prices that vary from the other. Passion fruits have the highest price as compared to other fruits as a 57kg bag goes for Sh.5,500 in Mombasa, Sh.5,000 in Nairobi and Nakuru respectively, Sh.4,400 in Kitale, Sh.2,850 in Eldoret and Sh.2,800 in Kisumu. Fruits with the lowest market prices include Cooking and ripe bananas and pineapples. The table below summarizes the information:
