Kisumu had Highest Dry Maize Market Price in August

Dry maize has had varied prices in the month of August from town to town for a 90kg bag across the country. The supply seemed to be average as the difference was not very high from the highest market price to the lowest.

By the end of August, the average market prices from different towns, a 90kg bag was averagely being retailed as follows, Nairobi Sh.2,800, Mombasa Sh.2,900, Kisumu Sh.3200, Nakuru Sh.2,700, Eldoret Sh.2,600 and Kitale Sh.2,600.

Beans on the other hand, beans, the Rosecoco type happened to be in pleanty as it was being sold in all most towns in the country. This led to the prices being almost the same, as the highest average market price was Sh.7,650 while the lowest market price was Sh.5,000.

The average market prices for Rosecoco beans in the month of August were as follows: Nairobi Sh.6,200, Mombasa Sh.5,900, Kisumu Sh.7,200, Nakuru Sh.5,000, Eldoret Sh.7,650, Kisii Sh.6,000 and Malindi Sh.6,100.
