Maize retailing Highest in Kisumu and Lowest in Mombasa

A 90-kilogram bag of dry maize was retailing highest in Kisumu where it went at 3,600 and lowest in Mombasa at 2,600 shillings. The market price for the cereal keeps going up given that there have been reports some shortage across the country. The same quantity was going at 3,100 shillings in Kitale, 2,800 shillings in Nakuru and Eldoret respectively and 2,700 shillings in Nairobi.

On the other hand, a 90-kilogram bag of sorghum was being sold highest in Eldoret at 5,400 shillings and lowest in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru where it was going at 3,600 shillings respectively.

A variety of bean types are available in the market including Canadian beans, Rosecoco beans and Mwitemania beans. Njahi, greengrams and groundnuts are also in pleanty though with different market prices from town to town.

A 110-kilogram bag of groundnuts was being retailed as follows: 15,440 shillings in Mombasa, 14,300 shillings in Kitale, 14,000 shillings in Nakuru, 13,000 shillings in Nairobi, 12,000 shillings in Kisumu and 11,700 shillings in Eldoret. Here is a summary on the same:
