Monday in Focus; How the Bourse Performed

The NASI ticked up by 0.26 percent as the turnover at the bourse halved during the Monday’s trading session to 257.9 million shillings as compared to the previous session.

On Monday, KCB Group retained its position as the highest mover of the day, followed by Equity Group Holdings Ltd. The two, however, lost 0.7 percent and 2.9 percent respectively as compared to the previous session.

British American Tobacco was the highest loser on Monday having sold only 100 shares. The NIC Bank also joined the bullish trend exuded last week joining the losers list after its books’ closure on 6th April 2017.

The total foreign participation at the NSE on Monday stood at 50.3 percent with KCB and Safaricom accounting for 37.1 and 27.1 percent respectively. KCB recorded the highest foreign net inflows of 41.1 million shillings while Kenya Power and Lighting Company logged the highest net outflows of 5.4 million shillings.
