Kenya’s Short-term Treasury Bills under-subscribed by 94.7pc

Kenya’s short term treasury bills were under-subscribed at 94.7 percent  on Thursday compared to last week’s oversubscription of 144.8 percent.

The yield on 91-day, 182-day and 364-day coming at 8.1 percent, 10.3 percent and 10.9 percent, respectively.

The Central Bank on 91-day, 182-day and 364-day  received  Ksh 4.20 Billion, Ksh  5.98 billion and Ksh 12.08 Billion respectively.

The National Treasury was looking to raise Ksh 24Bn but only received Ksh 22Bn.

“We may see slight tightening in the early part of next week as we expect Ksh 40Bn to be pulled out against maturities of Ksh 27Bn,” according to Genghis Analysts.
