Kenyans to experience a short lived warmer weather in September

The Kenya Meteorological Department says the cold spell that Kenyans have been experiencing is about to end soon.

“The cold spell is expected to end by mid-September and give way to warmer and eventually relatively hot days before the rains being,” said Samuel Mwangi, Director Meteorological Services.

According to the met department, the month of September is usually a transition period of weather from cold to warm season.

“The cold season started in June and picked up in July and much of August over the whole country. The cold season seems to have been prolonged into September, which is normally warm,” the statement read.

The cold season has been associated with stable air in the morning over the highland area leading to development of low level clouds. This has inhibited sunshine rays heating the ground and therefore giving us cold temperatures most of the morning according to the Met department.

However, the warm weather will be short lived as the  short rains season is expected to be experienced for the coming months of October, November, and December.
