Kenyan Shilling Depreciates To Its Lowest in Two Years

The Kenyan shillings dropped to its lowest level in a period of two years on Thursday morning as concerns begin to rise of the future of the local currency.

On Thursday, the shillings dropped to 104.05/20 against the US Dollar, being its lowest fall in 24 months.

The shilling started to sway immediately the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji announced the immediate arrest of the then CS for Treasury, Henry Rotich.

Since the arrest, the shilling has shed off 0.8 percent.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has since appointed CS for Labor Ukur Yattani in an acting capacity as the CS for Finance.
