Remember the days when the class teacher would walk in with the class report forms and those tailing would start justifying themselves? Well, such was the day yesterday, 17th September 2019, for a number of Governors tailing in performance after a UK based Organization released a report of how Kenya’s 47 Governors were performing.
Last on the list was Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu who instead of seeing a chance to pull up his socks chose to play the blame game accusing bloggers of soiling his name for a pay.
Clearly, Waititu did not understand that the poll was not carried out on the social media platforms neither was it about him but about the residents of Kiambu County who deserved better.
Governor Waititu, alongside his wife, the first lady of Kiambu County spent a night behind bars awaiting a court date to answer to corruption charges. Waititu was released on a 15 million bail by the High Court and was barred from accessing his Kiambu Governor’s offices.
Waititu was alleged to have been wiring money to his family which included his wife and daughter.

Below is a list of Ten Poorest Performing Governors in Kenya’s 47 Counties
Cyprian Awiti, the Governor of Homa Bay County, has been battling ill health for some time, a factor that has seen him missing from the public office.
Awiti who at one time came back from a medical leave to reprimand his executive over laziness has had a challenging time running the County as he battles ill health.
The other eight Governors apart from Ali Korane who has been battling criminal accusations from a family that accused him of masterminding an attack on their son can only be said to be lazy if not corrupt.
