Kenya Power to Delay the Release of Its Financial Results

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has released a statement saying that it will delay the release of its financial results for FY 2018/2019.

Kenya Power has stated that it failed to meet the Capital Markets Authority’s (CMA) stipulated deadline that requires companies to publish their results within three months after the close of the review period which is 31st October 2019.

The power supplier has said that the reason for the delay in the release is due to their waiting for the appointment of a new auditor general, with the company expecting to release its results before or on the 30th of November 2019.

Kenya Power is not the only company to issue a statement of their expected delay in publishing their financial results.

KenGen and East Africa Portland Cement have also sort approval from the CMA for an extension to publish their results at a later date.
