COVID-19 Update: 127 Infections, 4 Dead, 17 Discharged In 24 Hours

Kenya has today recorded a new 127 cases of COVID-19 infections out of the 3,831 samples tested in the past 24 hours according to Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi who has noted that sadly, Kenyans have thrown caution to the air.

Mombasa and Nairobi are leading in the number of infections even as the Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi notes that gladly Kenyans have started turning up in big numbers for the COVID-19 tests.

“Today we have discharged 17 patients who have recovered from the virus but we are sad to note that we have lost 4 more patients as well, all from Mombasa county bringing the total number of fatalities to 62,” Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi.

The 127 COVID-19 cases bring the total number of confirmed cases in Kenya to 1745 making today’s number the third day to report a 3-digit number in the increase of COVID-19.

Kibra continues to report a high number of COVID-19 cases making the cases in Nairobi highest followed by Mombasa and Kiambu county.

Kenya has tested 74,003 samples so far since it reported the first COVID-19 infection which means the country is still far from achieving its target of testing Kenyans.

Kenya now has 1,745 total confirmed number of cases since the first case of COVID-19 on March 13th, 2020, and has today also recorded 17 new recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries in Kenya to 438.

The number of fatalities has been rising constantly in the last three days which have also reported the highest number of infections staggering between 3 and 4 cases raising the total number to 62 Total fatalities

Nairobi has reported 76 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours while Mombasa has 19 cases and Busia 16, Uasin Gishu has also increased the number of cases it has been reporting and registered 16 cases today.

Kibra has reported 49 cases, Ruaraka 13, Westlands 4, Kasarani, and Starehe one while the cases in Mombasa are 7 from Kisauni, 6 in Mvita,2 in Likoni and one in Jomvu.
