The angry youths threw stones at Ruto’s supporters as they demanded to see Raila Odinga and their controversial incumbent Embakasi East area member of parliament Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino.

Deputy President William Ruto’s Jacaranda rally in Embakasi East on 16th January 2022, was interrupted by rowdy youths who were chanting anti- Ruto songs.

‘Hatutaki pesa, tunataka Baba na Babu Owino.’ (We do not want money, we want Raila Odinga and Babu Owino). The angry youths threw stones at Ruto’s supporters as they demanded to see Raila Odinga and their controversial incumbent Embakasi East area member of parliament Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino.

Ruto accused the youthful MP and his party leader Raila Odinga of organizing goons who disrupted his rally with stones, causing chaos.

It is not clear whether Babu Owino had a hand in this mayhem but the hustler brigade is working on assumption that since the angry youths demanded to see him (Babu Owino), then it is presumed that he must have had a hand in everything that took place on that day.

It is yet another season of political drama as the country is already streamlined with political tantrums. They say politics is a game of numbers. However, Kenyan politicians have changed the narrative. Here in our country Kenya, politics is a game of tricks and open day hoodwinking.

Everyone is condemning the violence. Then who is this that is still sponsoring the same violence they condemn on daily basis? We have witnessed a good number of high-profile politicians falling victims to hate speech. Some have been accessed of sponsoring violence. However, all we hear from the government is ‘we are investigating the matter.’

Separating violence from Kenyan politics has proven to be an uphill task since we are addressing the wrong people. The common citizenry cannot sponsor violence on its own. The must be a top big green snake that is camouflaging in green grass and pulling string from behind the scenes.

How about keeping off from rallies being held by individuals you don’t like? I think that one can do better. Let us make Kenya a better place to be!
