Many Kenyans have found themselves registered as members of different political parties without their consent. In a move to have Kenyans as their members, political parties have been using unscrupulous ways to register Kenyans including buying data.

How do you change if you are a member of a political party?

The whole process is online and it would take you between 30 seconds to 1 minute to find out about your political party registration status:

  • Go to the ORPP website.

  • On the main menu, click on Political Parties

  • Click on Political Party Membership

  • Enter your identification number (ID) or Passport number

Now, say you have been registered without your consent, how do you get deregistered? Deregistration is not an easy task and mostly you may give up along the way because of the process and frustrations.

  • Avoid downloading apps that need your ID numbers, names, locations, etc (mobile loan apps)

  • Avoid sharing your personal information with other people.
