KSCE Candidates Given Until April 1 To Apply For Courses

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates of 2021 have until 1^st April to apply for their choice of courses after Kenya Universities and College Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announced that school principals and students can now access their portal.

KUCCPS opened its application portal just after the candidates started their practical exams this week on Monday. The number of candidates sitting for KCSE is 831,026.

“This is to notify school principals that the portal is now open for the 2021 application. Submit KCSE candidates’ course choices by April 1, 2022,” reads a notice by KUCCPS.

The application fee for each student is Ksh500. All students have 18 open choices for application. Six options of degree courses, four options for diploma programs, four for crafts certificate, and the other four options for artisan certificate courses.

However, candidates will have a chance to revise their first and second-course applications after the KCSE results are released. This second revision will only be applicable to those students who will not earn a chance of their preferred course choices at the first application.

For students who will not secure placement in the first-course revision, they will not make any payments for the second revision. The fee paid at the first revision will however be applicable for the second-course revision.

Teachers are expected to help the students in picking the courses to avoid mistakes of selecting competitive and high-level courses in the top university, common mistakes which have been seen over the past years by KUCCPS while students applying for courses.
