The Lucrative Business Of Casting Out Demons Among Kenyans

Karl Max said that “religion is the opium of the masses. The maintainer of the status quo and the exploiter of the poor.” Karl Max, although he said this many years ago, it is like he had Kenyans in mind while unleashing this kind of wisdom.

The video of the once-popular secular singer Size 8 casting out demons, a lady who had mastered the art of shaking her behind and throwing kicks, went viral across social media platforms. At one time, she was seen having a one-on-one with the demons, telling them to shut the hell up in the name of Jesus.

“You Devil you won’t sumbua us,” she said, officially recruiting the Kenyan Devil into the world of sheng’ language. Although people have been making fun of her, her gymnastic on the “alter” together with her actors is something that we witness daily in the name of religion.

The business of casting out demons among Kenyans is a lucrative one. The business is so lucrative that it has seen some “Men of God” buy top-of-the-range cars, private jets, and live in houses that their congregations can only dream of.

The business is so lucrative because, the Government of Kenya, in the spirit of joining them to fight the Devil, decided that they should not pay taxes. So, we have human beings pocketing millions of shillings that are tax-free and there is nothing we can do.

Size 8 is not the only one that has ventured into the business of casting out demons among Kenyans. In fact, she is still learning. We can call her a “toddler” in the faith. This is why her performance is still terrible but with time, she will become a pro and the demons will have to respect her.

We have witnessed the likes of Pastor Ng’ang’a, the man who claims to have children all over Kenya from different women, the man who can insult you with any insulting vocabulary that ever existed preaching the way to Heaven. And his church is ever full. Sometimes he slaps them so that the demons can see how tough he is, but they still come back.

We have seen the self-proclaimed Mighty Prophet of the Lord, Dr. Prophet David Owuor. This is the man who claims that he always has a conversation with God himself. Sometimes Jesus sits at his feet and they have a talk and even crack jokes. The man even says that there are two keys to open the doors of Heaven. That God has one of the keys and he gave the other to him to keep it safe.

Owuor has thousands of followers who are always holly, singing Halleluja Hossana, and have no business with other sinners. When Owuor is visiting a place, his sheep, I mean followers, have to arrive there weeks before, to sweep and wash the roads for the Man of God to pass. Some remove their clothes and put them on the ground for the Mighty Man of God to pass.

The business of casting out demons in Kenya is ruled by conmen, thieves, rapists, corrupt, and murderers. They kill and steal in the name “of the Lord.” They sell hope to the hopeless and faith to the faithless. You give them money so that they can pray for you to get money.

When someone who goes to church wants to buy a car, the pastor will tell them to pray to the Man Above and have faith. But when the pastor wants to buy a car, he does not pray. He knows the Man Above takes time. So, the poor sheep have to contribute for him to buy a car.

They have a strange habit of organizing overnight “Keshas”. For those who do not know, Keshas are meetings where human beings of sound mind come together to shout and howl the whole night like madmen and women, then go back to their sinful ways in the morning.

So, ladies and gentlemen, when you see them on stage casting out demons, know that they are at work and the demons are in trouble.
