Karl Max said that religion is the opium of the masses, the maintainer of the status quo, and the exploiter of the poor. But what is the meaning of religion to you? How do you view religion?
Religion is a belief and worship of a superhuman controlling power especially a personal God or gods. In Kenya, the major religions practiced are Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Atheism.
Religion can also be classified as culture in some cases, or a norm because people tend to follow what they were born in, but in minimal cases, some decide to change their religions.
There has been a fight in the minds of individuals trying to understand which religion is best or does right, and in the end, due to confusion, they tend to follow what they were taught and what they were brought up to believe. Since we now live by believing.
Christianity and Islam religions are the most practiced religions in the country and have the highest percentage in the population, Christianity leading.
Christians believe there is a supreme being called God in which they follow the Bible as a reference book, same case to the Muslims they believe in Allah who is their God and follows the Holy Quran as their holy book of reference. Where did these books come from? and who wrote the books? These Are the questions.
Christians believe the Bible was written in Hebrew in the 6th century BC. They believe that the writers of the Bible were inspired by the holy spirit.
On the other hand, the Muslims believe in the Quran in which they believe it was sent to prophets by God through an angel and was written by the companions of the prophet.
The word believing has got a big impact on individuals because all these religions rely on “we believe” what if it’s not true about the prophecies? What if the prophets lied?
In some research the atheists win, because the atheists do not believe in any supreme being, they take things as they are, they go by nature. Not complicated as other religions who got books for referrals and believe things they are not sure of.
