KEY TAKEAWAYS

What happened to the Pastor in Brooklyn should be like a wake-up call to "prosperity preachers" in Kenya too. Kenya has millionaire pastors robbing those living on less than a dollar a day.

There is a viral video of a Pastor in Brooklyn by the name of Lamor M. Whitehead who was robbed at gunpoint during a live church service. The “Man of God” was delivering the powerful word of life when three gun-yielding-masked men walked in and ordered him to lie down, on the floor.

The “Man of God” has a church in the “poor part” of Brooklyn. The flamboyant man has a mega-church with more than 500 members, largely drawn from the surrounding. He drives a Rolls Royce and always pulls up at church with pomp and color.

The man later told police that he was robbed along with his wife of more than $1 million while he was preaching at church Sunday.

“I got women and children there. As I got down, one went to my wife and took all her jewelry, and had the gun in front of my 8-month-old baby’s face,” he continued.

“Took off my bishop’s ring, my wedding band and took off my bishop chain, and then I had chains underneath my robe, and he starts tapping my neck to see if (there was) anything else — so that means they knew, they watched and they knew that I have other jewelry,” he said.

Those who witnessed the incident said that the “Man of God” has always made himself a target by “rolling big”, like showing his congregation that they were “born to give him money and feed him.” Looks like he has been robbing them and they robbed him back!

What happened to the Pastor in Brooklyn should be like a wake-up call to “prosperity preachers” in Kenya too. Kenya has millionaire pastors robbing those living on less than a dollar a day. It has churches that have schools that their congregants’ kids cannot attend because it is too expensive.
