"The Commission condemns this act of hooliganism and intimidation and calls upon the Inspector of Police (IG) to bring to an end this blatant abuse of the Rule of Law," said IEBC through a tweet on their official Twitter Account.
Azimio has sued both the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati and the commission as a whole for failing to deliver as mandated by the law during the August 9, 2022, general elections where William Ruto was declared by Chebukati as President-elect.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has said that an organized group of goons wielding crude weapons attempted to attack IEBC personnel preparing responses to Presidential election petitions at a premise within Nairobi.
The electoral body says that its team was almost attacked at around 8:30 pm but were “repulsed by security” before they could attack. The national police, is, however, yet to confirm the allegation by the IEBC. The commission is also yet to report the incident.

On Monday, Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Amollo Odinga filed a case at the Supreme Court challenging the announcement of Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate William Samoei Ruto as the President of Kenya by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Azimio has sued both the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati and the commission as a whole for failing to deliver as mandated by the law during the August 9, 2022, general elections where William Ruto was declared by Chebukati as President-elect.
The Azimio team delivered a lorry full of boxes that they say is enough evidence to overturn the August 9 presidential elections. If the Supreme Court will agree to the prayers of Azimio, then this will be the second presidential election to be overturned under the 2010 Constitution.
