Education Cabinet Secretary, Ezekiel Machogu has announced the appointment of 13 new Vice Chancellors universities in the country.
On Friday 25th August, CS Machogu made the announcement. This follows the competitive recruitment of vice chancellors which was kickstarted in February.
According to Education CS, Prof Benedict Mwavu Mutua was appointed as the new VC for the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) as Prof Nathan Oyori Ogechi took over the reins at Kisii University. On the other hand, Prof. James H. P. Kahindi was named the new university boss of Pwani University.

Prof Barasa Lwagula will now be the head of Alupe University according to the new changes. Machakos University was also affected by the changes with Prof Joyce Jepkirui Agalo announced as the new VC.
At Jaramogi University of Science and Technology, Prof Emily Achieng Akuno will be the new university boss as her colleague, Prof Linus Muthuri Gitonga, takes over at Karatina University.

Prof Charles Omondi will now head Tom Mboya University. Other new appointees were Prof Douglas Shitanda (South Eastern Kenya University), Prof Thomas Kimeli Cheruiyot(University of Eldoret) Prof Linus Muthuri Gitonga ( Karatina University) Prof Peter K. Muriungi (Tharaka University ) and Prof Peter Nganga Muchiri ( Dedan Kimathi University of Technology).
The announcement by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu came months after the Public Service Commission (PSC) advertised vacancies in the various institutions as the term of previous university bosses came to an end.
