How To Change Universities, Programs On KUCCPS Portal

The Kenya University and Colleges Central Placement (KUCCPS) 2022 Inter-University transfer online application portal is now open. KUCCPS has given students, who are joining tertiary institutions in September 2023 a final opportunity to select their preferred institutions and programs.
According to the statement released by KUCCPS, the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) students who have been successfully placed to various universities and colleges but wish to be transferred to other institutions, can opt for a switch if they are unhappy with their initial placement
KUCCSPS said that the e final day to make institutional or program transfers is August 15, 2023. This extension will allow students to carefully reconsider their choices and make the best decisions for their future academic pursuits.

How to Switch Universities/Programmes
- Inter-university transfers can only be done online by logging in to students.kuccps.net and no physical forms from preferred universities are accepted.
- Once logged onto the portal, students should navigate to the “Transfers” tab and select the specific program they wish to transfer to.
- The portal will display an inter-institution field, prompting the student to input the program code for their preferred course.
- KUCCPS will verify if the student meets the required cut-off points for the desired program. Additionally, the student will need to provide a comprehensive explanation for initiating the transfer.
- Students must make a non-refundable payment of Ksh1,000 through mobile transfer to complete the transfer. The transaction code received from this payment will be used to validate the transfer application.
- Once your transfer request is validated, the chosen institution will automatically receive your application and consider it and subject it to available slots.
- If the e institution approves your transfer, it will be forwarded to your initial school for endorsement before final approval by KUCCPS.
- Once KUCCPS approves your request, a transfer letter will be issued via your portal, serving as your admission letter to the new university or college

Reasons for Inter-University Transfers
Students are allowed to switch courses due to a variety of reasons according to KUCCSPS. Some of the common reasons cited by students include; medical and financial challenges, as well as accommodating persons with disabilities.

KUCCPS also recognizes the importance of students pursuing courses that align with their interests and passions.
- Select the Reason for Transfer (Medical, Person With Disability, Financial Reasons, Not my preferred program, or other).
- After selecting, attach a document that supports your reason for transfer. For continuing students who want to transfer. You must attach your transcripts.
- Then fill in the reason for the Transfer Application in not less than 300 characters and note more than 300 characters.
- The next step will load automatically if you have done everything right. Otherwise, you will not be able to proceed to the next step.
