Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will now have to be referred to as “Former Deputy President” after the court set aside conservatory orders that had since kept him in office after his impeachment.
The court has set aside conservatory orders that had prevented the nominated Deputy President Kithure Kindiki from being sworn in.
The ruling means Rigathi Gachagua ceases to be the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya and that Kithure Kindiki is now set to be sworn in as the new Deputy President.
Rigathi Gachagua’s lawyers have vowed to appeal.
