List Of KMTC Courses That Are In High Demand In US And UK

According to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), there is high demand for its graduates in international recruitment firms in the United States of America, USA and the United Kingdom, UK apart from nursing.

KMTC CEO Dr Kelly Oluoch said that courses such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Medicine and Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetics are in high demand.

On Thursday 13^th February, while addressing delegates, Oluoch attributed that there has been a significant upswing in international job placement for KMTC graduates in the past year.

“While nursing has traditionally dominated recruitment requests, we now witness increasing interest in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Medicine, and Medical Laboratory Sciences. Other disciplines like Nutrition and Dietetics, among others, are also beginning to attract attention,” he stated.

He highlighted that there has been a 50% spike in international job verification requests, with the college having processed 3,249 job verification requests in 2024.

The bilateral labor agreements between Kenya and key global partners, such as the UK and Germany, have created structured pathways for Kenyan health professionals to work abroad.

“These requests come from recruiting firms seeking to verify the authenticity of documents presented by KMTC graduates who have applied, successfully undergone interviews, and are being considered for employment abroad,” KMTC said in a statement.

“We have deployed additional staff to fast-track job verification requests, ensuring that our graduates secure opportunities on time,” Oluoch added.

According to Oluoch, the high demand for KMTC graduates, who are famed for their competence and skills, has positioned the institution as a preferred recruitment hub for local and international employers.

The CEO promised that the institution would station additional staff to ensure speedy tracking of job verification requests to ensure that the graduates secure the opportunities on time.
