KUCCPS Reopens Applications For 22 KMTC Diploma And Certificate Courses, How To Apply

BY Getrude Mathayo · September 1, 2026 03:09 pm

Kenyan students who missed out on applying to Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) during the September 2026 window are getting a second shot. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for 22 diploma and certificate programmes offered at KMTC campuses nationwide.

According to KMTC, the fresh window is meant for prospective students who weren’t able to beat the earlier deadline but still want to secure a spot in the September 2026 intake. The college says the available slots cut across a range of its most sought-after programmes, and it’s encouraging anyone still hoping to break into the healthcare field to move quickly.

Some of the standout options on offer include the Diploma in Community Health, Public Health, and Health Counselling, three programmes built around preventive care, tracking and responding to disease outbreaks, mental health support, and broader community wellness work. On the certificate side, applicants can go for courses like Community Health Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, and Mortuary Science, alongside several others.

The timing is notable. Many students who already submitted their KMTC applications for the September intake are currently in limbo, waiting anxiously to hear whether they’ve been placed. For those who missed the boat entirely, though, this reopening is a welcome, if limited,  lifeline. It’s worth noting that admission still depends on how many vacancies remain in each specific course, so there’s no guarantee of a spot even for those who apply promptly.
